This outstanding botanical garden is home to more than 1,000 varieties of bamboo, as well as amazing trees and plants, making the Bambouseraie a very special place in Europe. Each year, the Bambouseraie takes you a journey packed with discoveries and surprises, getting you close-up to the ever-changing face of nature.

Welcome to the land of giants! Discover this magnificent avenue of Sequoias as soon as you set foot in the park. Surrounded by towering trees and bamboo, visitors of all ages will be enchanted by this lush, leafy wonderland. You’ll be amazed at the sheer size of these immense Sequoias, with the tallest specimens reaching up to 40 metres high into the sky.
CEOEnjoy a truly unique experience on our net walkway that takes you up to 8 metres above the ground! Moving from platform to platform, you’ll be in the midst of our bamboo where you can take your time to observe, admire and study it close-up, in complete safety and without treading on any roots!
– Open to all, aged 6 and above, with an adult present

Dragon Valley has been inspired by the traditional art of Japanese garden and Zen influences. Landscape Architect, Erik Borja, also designed it to be attuned to the Cevenol environment and weather. The dragon’s breath water feature is spanned by the Red Phoenix Pavilion, built from wood in true Japanese style. Soak up the superb view from the pavilion of water, stone and plant life in perfect harmony.
This truly authentic Asian village was entirely built by a Laotian-born member of our staff ably assisted by his team, to showcase the architecture and décor of a traditional country dwelling in Laos. In the village grounds you’ll also be able to see:
– realistic landscapes,
– plant species from Laos, such as:
banana plants, Taros (Asian root vegetable), sugar cane, etc.
Sometimes bamboo can be giant! Slip into our bamboo groves that reach up to 25 metres high in places. Bamboo is an amazing grass species with an endless range of uses. It’s also a real asset for our planet as, like all plants, bamboo absorbs CO2 and releases oxygen, making it the champion of plants that fix and store greenhouse gases.
This is a place to switch off and take your time. Time to savour the breath-taking lines and curves forming the scenery in this secret garden. Eugene’s Pool Garden blends:
– architecture
– the bold lines of the pool
– mirror-like water
– and the spirit of nature inherent in this green corridor with its babbling brook
Step softly through this relaxing garden to relish it from all angles.
This leafy labyrinth symbolises beginnings, the path to knowledge and personifies a journey. Your way out is lined with a Japanese variety of bamboo (Semiarundinaria makinoï). Its dense, short side-shoots make it perfect for trimming into hedges. Are you up to the challenge?
In 2019, Bambouseraie en Cévennes was awarded the “National Park Spirit” label for its natural environment. The national park enjoys wide scale international recognition: it was rated a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO: the agro-pastoral landscape of the Causses and Cévennes are a World-Heritage listed site: the site has been awarded the International Dark Sky Reserve label. Committed to the protection of the environment and biodiversity, the national park spirit label is a new sign of confidence and collective belonging, for the Bambouseraie.”
